Sullivan's Island is about a 20-minute drive from downtown. On the typical American roads, passing the lighthouse, we strolled to the coast, where we took a long walk on the 7th of May, 2019.
The width of the coast is impressive - so far, no matter where we have been in America, there is a vast sandy beach everywhere. We love this panorama.

We also love that people greet us with a friendly smile wherever we go. Unusual but fantastic feeling! 😄
We went to the top of the island where Fort Moultrie is located. Fort Sumter - not far from here on the bay - is known for the first armed battle of the American Civil War. It was besieged and occupied by the Confederate States of America forces from April 12th to 14th, 1861.

Unfortunately, Moultrie Fort was already closed when we arrived, so we could only see the cannons outside the fort area. We also has a beautiful sunset.
